John W. Schilt has a varied practical background which serves well in identifying with both judges and juries. He can articulate your position with utmost clarity. From the complex to the mundane, he strives to serve the client's needs and preserve the dignity of both the client and the legal profession.
Mr. Schilt is licensed to practice law in South Dakota, Minnesota and California. He is registered with numerous Federal Courts in several jurisdictions. He is also a licensed real estate agent, contractor, and pilot. Mr. Schilt is also fluent in German. Mr. Schilt has taught various subjects to Engineering, General and Specialty Contractors, preparing them for the California State Contractor's Exam. Subjects include General Contract Law, Mechanic's Lien Law, and Accounting and Finance (2002-2007). With an M.B.A. in Management and Finance, John has successfully run several businesses including an Advertising Agency (1979-1989) and General Building Contractor (1986-1994).
Mr. Schilt is married and has two children. Currently, he spends his free time coaching Little League baseball and serves for the City of Pinole, California, Economic Development and Housing Advisory Commission. Mr. Schilt is also Chief Liaison Office for Charter School Development and Feasibility in the City of Pinole.
Dennis A. Phillips graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in United States History.
After working for a few years in the technology sector for a small software company, Mr. Phillips attended the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating in 2000 with a concentration in Intellectual Property. Mr. Phillips has been practicing law since 2001 and is admitted to practice in state court as well as Federal Court for the Northern District of California.
Mr. Phillips has developed his experience in Landlord/Tenant disputes (including Rent Controlled/Just Cause cities such as San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland and most recently Richmond), Restraining Orders and General Civil Litigation.
Lauren D. Johnson is a seasoned attorney experienced in various areas of civil litigation including product liability, personal injury and business and employment law. In her employment law practice, Ms. Johnson represents both plaintiffs and employers in litigation involving wage-and-hour violations, discrimination, harassment, trade secret theft, wrongful discharge and retaliation claims. She is also skilled in Alternative Dispute Resolution and settlement negotiation. Ms. Johnson also provides extensive employment and business law consultation and services to corporate clients.
Ms. Johnson obtained a B.A in History and a B.A in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. After graduation, Lauren worked as a market analyst at a management consulting firm based in London, UK. She later obtained her Juris Doctorate from USC School of Law. While attending USC School of Law, Ms. Johnson was appointed a Legion Lex Scholar and received a USC Public Interest Law Grant.
Ms. Johnson is a member of the Board of Directors for Heaven’s Door Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides support services to women who have been diagnosed with cancer. Ms. Johnson provides pro bono legal services and grant writing assistance to the organization.
Te’Reisha N. Graves is a Richmond, California native. Ms. Graves is committed to ensuring her clients receive zealous representation from start to finish. Ms. Graves fights tirelessly to find solutions to resolve each client’s unique matter. She effectively communicates with her clients throughout their case to make certain they are not left in the dark. Ms. Graves demonstrates a high degree of care and compassion when dealing with her clients.
Ms. Graves graduated from California State University, East Bay, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Criminal Justice Administration. After graduation, Ms. Graves attended John F. Kennedy University, earning a certificate in Legal Studies. She later graduated as one of the top five students in her class from Florida A&M University, College of Law (FAMU Law), earning her Juris Doctorate magna cum laude (with great honor) and on the Dean’s List. While attending FAMU Law, Ms. Graves received the American Jurisprudence “Book” Award (highest grade) in: Family Law, Business Organizations, Evidence, and Legal Research & Writing.
Outside the practice of law, Ms. Graves enjoys working out, spending time with family, traveling and mentoring young women who want to join the legal profession.
David Chen has 19 years as a trial attorney working for Farmers Insurance Exchange. He has experience representing hundreds of clients involved in automobile personal injury accidents, pedestrian claims, landlord tenant matters, premises liability, commercial trip and fall, dog bites, assaults, and mold/lead exposure. He has been lead counsel in 47 jury trials in San Francisco, Alameda, and Contra Costa Counties.
Mr. Chen obtained his bachelor's degree in 1993 from U.C. Berkeley where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with High Honors. He obtained his J.D. in 1996 from U.C. Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) where he earned the Prosser Prize in Criminal Law. Mr. Chen began his career with the Contra Costa County Public Defender's Office where he tried 9 criminal misdemeanor jury trials. He was then hired as a trial attorney by Farmers Insurance Exchange house counsel until 2017 when he transitioned to my own private practice. Mr. Chen is admitted to practice in state court and in Federal Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California.
Mr. Chen is fluent in Spanish, having spent my childhood in South America and Spain. he is also conversant in Mandarin Chinese.
Andrew V. Gabriel was born and raised in the Bay Area and graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law. His focus is in both Employment and Real Property litigation. While in law school, Mr. Gabriel worked at TENAX Law Group, P.C. as a law clerk and he is proud to return as an attorney.
When representing clients, Mr. Gabriel focuses on client focused, need based approaches to achieving goals. Mr. Gabriel’s Employment Law practice represents both employees and employers in wage and hour, discrimination, retaliation, misclassification, and wrongful termination. He also provides consulting too small and medium sized businesses as it relates to labor and employment law practices. In his Real Property practice, Mr. Gabriel represents clients in a number of issues including landlord/tenant, transactional disputes, and neighbor disputes. Finally, in his products liability suit, Mr. Gabriel zealously advocates for his client to achieve the best result possible.
Mr. Gabriel is also committed to community involvement. He is an elected official for the Rodeo-Hercules Fire Protection District Board of Directors, ensuring that emergency services are maintained for the Rodeo Hercules area. Prior to joining the RHFPD Board of Directors, Mr. Gabriel was appointed by the City of Hercules for the Community and Library Services Commission. Mr. Gabriel is also active in the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California.
